How to heat and serve
A simple guide to help you heat and serve our delicious food. There is zero prep required and in most cases you can use our containers so less washing up and food waste. We have added hints and tips if you are laying on a feast for friends and family or if you want to sparingly spread the food over a number of meals.
N.B. Each individual item on our website also includes heating, storage and allergen & ingredients information in the item description. In addition, the information is also provided on each product sleeve when you receive them.
These dishes are generally more dense because of liquid contents so are best when they are heated through. You can either use the containers and keep their lids on (just remove outer sleeve) and simply heat them individually in the microwave/oven or empty the contents into a saucepan and make sure they are piping hot when you serve. This works well if you are looking to use the whole tub as a standalone meal as they commonly include 2 servings in each.
Tip
Alternatively, you could take out what you need onto a plate with various other items to form a meal and heat the plate on its own. This is a good option to avoid excess waste and make the food last longer or spread items between more people.
If you are serving a number of the tubs at the same time then it is best to put them all into the oven together. There is no need to remove the lids as they are double vented and oven safe. Adjust the cooking time accordingly to make sure they are all heated through.
Heating Instructions
MICROWAVE – Remove outer sleeve, keep lid on as it is double vented and does not need piercing or removing and heat for 4 mins (200w)
HOB – Simply empty contents into the saucepan and heat gently and stir occasionally until piping. N.B don’t be too intense with the heat as you will spoil the texture of the dish.
OVEN – Pre-heat your oven to 190ºC / 180ºC fan. Cook for 20 minutes until piping hot, remove lid carefully and leave to stand for one minute before eating. Do not cook without lid as it will dry out the sauce. Our tubs are oven safe up to 220c.
Our rice is ready cooked and has been freshly steamed so you just need to heat the container itself. We recommend microwaving as per the instruction below.

If you want to heat up all the different types of food you’re making for your loved ones at once, do the following:
- For the main dishes: take off the outer sleeves, leave the lid on, and put them all in the oven together. For the ones with thicker liquids, put them on the top shelf. Cook for about 20 minutes at medium heat, then adjust as needed until they’re hot enough to eat.
- For samosas, pakoras, aloo tikki’s, or spring rolls: you can add them to the oven on the bottom shelf a little later. Or, you can put them in the air fryer to keep them crispy. Take off all the packaging and put them on a suitable tray to heat them up.
- While the food is reheating, set the table with all your pickles and chutneys. Finally, add your naans to the oven in the last few minutes, since they heat up quickly.
